Bureau Christopher Knowles is a graphic design studio that creates experimental and innovative visual communication for a changing world.

Formed from the belief that effective design stimulates new ways of understanding our surroundings; the studio considers a project successful when it has broken through mundanity to offer unforseen solutions to its clientelle. The studio forgoes the pursuit of beauty and instead creates work rooted in meaning and clarity of purpose. Cultural influences, commerce, emotional response, functionality, time and place are all incorporated during the design process.

Offering services designing visual identity systems, printed matter, exhibitions, publications, campaigns, websites, posters, typographies, wayfinding, environments, and moving image the studio maintains versatility in solving problems in unexpected ways.

Bureau Christopher Knowles was established in 2017 by Christopher Knowles. Christopher has operated an independent practice since 2012. He has worked on a large spectrum of projects with a wide range of clientele in pursuit of progressive and forward-thinking solutions. He cultivates and curates a holistic approach to creative work in which joy, learning, and discovery are always possible. Christopher has grown his practice with the help of a network of design assistants, interns, independent designers, professors, writers, videographers, and developers. By inviting diversity of thought and a variety of backgrounds, Christopher keeps the creative output of the studio fresh and relevant.

With a deeply held belief in design education, Christopher teaches design courses at the BFA Graphic Design program at The Lamar Dodd School of Art at The University of Georgia. He is also faculty in the design department at The Creative Circus in Atlanta. He previously taught as a visiting professor at PI Art Center in Manhattan, NY in 2013.

Before operating an independent practice, Christopher spent time working for Laurie Rosenwald, Young Professionals, and Sony Music Entertainment in New York City, Son & Son’s in Atlanta, Pearlfisher in San Francisco and is currently serving as lead graphic designer to The Goat Farm Arts Center in Atlanta.
